The Business Online Services (BOS) division is charted to deliver services for Microsoft Office technologies, starting with the big ones (Exchange, SharePoint) then with building a platform in this space to cover technologies like VoIP, Office Communications Server, Live Meeting, Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, all to be delivered as a service. Just imagine the huge wave of change as we begin to take care of all our partner and customer needs in the cloud and then take the services fight right back to competitors. Our vision is one where every organization relies on us.
Were the BOS Analytics team. Were working on a number of key initiatives including:
Building a large scale data warehouse that aggregates data from a large number of data sources
Design and implement portals to provide a 360 degree view of our customers and KPIs about the online services.
Provide service usage to customers/partners of the online services.
Building out platform/infrastructure that allows us to process large volumes of data as well as onboard a large number of data sources quickly to achieve the above objectives.

This role will demand strong working relationships and interactions with dev/test/pm and cross group collaboration with other groups at Microsoft including customers and other product & marketing groups. The candidate will have the unique opportunity to influence our product and business strategy by synthesizing customer and market needs, and delivering both strategic and tactical recommendations.
Required qualifications include:
3+ years of Data Warehouse (DW) solution experience including strong SQL skills
2+ years BI testing experience, including an understanding of the business requirements
A proven ability to collaborate well with cross functional groups and virtual teams to effectively solve technical challenges.
Detailed Data warehouse development knowledge including experience writing complex T-SQL and ETLs
Broad OLAP Experience including writing MDX queries
Demonstrated proficiency in an object oriented programming (C,C++, Java, or preferably, C#)
Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good understanding of BI business models
Preferred qualifications include:
Agile software development practice experience (e.g. SCRUM)
Experience with Data profiling and quality assessment tools
Business Intelligence applications such as Data Mining, KPI and Dashboard experience
Microsoft BI platform experience: SQL Analysis Service (SSAS), Integration Service (SSIS), SQL Reporting Services (SSRS), Reporting tools (Excel, PPS)
eCommerce, online subscription or internet consumer business BI solution experience
A BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
